Environmental compliance provider gets sold to Blackstone
Acquired business has more than 60 offices and labs in North America.
Alabama-headquartered environmental compliance provider Alliance Technical Group (ATG) has been acquired by funds affiliated with Blackstone Energy Transition Partners and other Blackstone funds.
Blackstone Energy Transition Partners is Blackstone's strategy for control-oriented equity investments in energy-related businesses.
Without disclosing the terms of the sale, ATG CEO Chris LeMay commented: "Blackstone's investment is a testament to our strong organic and strategic growth as a trusted market leader in the testing, inspection, and compliance sector.
"With our partners at Blackstone, we look forward to continuing to scale and support our customers in navigating a complex, evolving regulatory landscape."
Manned by more than 2,200 people, ATG operates over 60 offices and laboratories across the US and Canada. It specialises in areas like source and lab testing, continuous emission monitoring systems, and leak detection and repair.
"We are excited to leverage Blackstone's scale and resources to help support ATG's continued growth, serving its existing and new customers across the power, energy, and industrial sectors," said Blackstone's Darius Sepassi and Mark Henle in a joint statement.
At the end of 2025, ATG snapped up environmental testing labs Earth Analytical Sciences, Mid-Continent Testing Laboratories, and Element One, whose clients will continue working with their existing lab teams whilst gaining access to ATG's resources and platform.
