INVESTBANK recognised at ESGBusiness Awards 2025 for education equality and biodiversity conservation
The bank’s dual initiatives highlight its commitment to inclusive education and sustainable environmental restoration.
INVESTBANK won Education Equality and Access Award - Jordan and Biodiversity Conservation Award - Jordan in the ESGBusiness Awards 2025. The recognition highlights the bank’s comprehensive approach to advancing both social inclusion and environmental resilience through targeted community initiatives.
As part of its social responsibility efforts, INVESTBANK supported the rehabilitation of 12 classrooms at Al-Bunayat Center for Special Education. This project created a safer and more inclusive environment tailored to children with disabilities. More than 50 students benefitted directly from the improved facilities, with enhanced emotional well-being and better learning outcomes reported.
In parallel, the bank placed equal emphasis on tackling environmental challenges in Jordan. In collaboration with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, it launched the “Save Dana” initiative, a three-year programme supporting the restoration of degraded forest ecosystems in the Dana Biosphere Reserve.
Using the sustainable cocoon planting technique, the project achieved measurable outcomes as of July 2025: 10,000 native trees planted, 41 dunums of land rehabilitated, and 200 tons of deadwood cleared to mitigate wildfire risks. The effort also created opportunities for 74 local workers and volunteers. The project successfully addressed a fungal disease threatening Phoenician juniper, Butum, and oak trees in Dana Reserve.
The environmental impacts have been significant, with native wildlife such as the Arabian leopard, striped hyena, and rare bird species showing signs of recovery within the reserve. The project further strengthened climate adaptation measures through water-efficient technologies and large-scale forest restoration, reducing CO₂ emissions whilst supporting ecotourism in the region.
