Young professionals feel unsupported in driving organisational ESG goals
Only 49% believe their organisations have fully integrated ESG principles into their strategies.
Young professionals said they are lacking the support needed to drive their organisation's climate objectives, KPMG reported.
Although most young professionals (66%) feel responsible for driving ESG impact in their organisations, only 10% believe they have the authority or freedom to take action.
The report noted young professionals value a company’s approach to ESG, with nearly half (48%) saying they would leave their job if their organisation lacked a commitment to climate, sustainability, and social impact.
Meanwhile, just about half of younger workers (49%) believe their organisations have fully integrated ESG principles and view their impact strategy as average compared to industry peers.
They cited cost of decarbonization (29%) and a lack of commitment from senior leaders (26%) as major barriers to achieving climate ambitions.
