Touch 'n Go Sdn Bhd wins dual honours at ESGBusiness Awards 2025

The company was recognised for advancing access to education and building inclusive workplaces.

Touch 'n Go Sdn Bhd won Education Equality and Access Award - Malaysia and Inclusion and Diversity Award - Malaysia in the ESGBusiness Awards 2025. The recognition reflects the company’s commitment to driving youth development and promoting equitable opportunities in the workplace.

In its education-focused initiatives, Touch 'n Go Sdn Bhd launched a School Adoption Programme in partnership with PINTAR Foundation. The three-year collaboration with SMK Seri Selayang, an underserved school with more than 1,500 students, aims to improve engagement and attendance levels. Amongst its activities is the Youth Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, where students participate in workshops to develop business ideas and present them in a competition judged by industry representatives. The programme also introduced a Financial Literacy Programme for younger students, covering budgeting, saving, and safe use of digital tools.

To support inclusivity, the company designed financial literacy sessions for special needs students, with lessons adapted to their pace and abilities. Beyond schools, Touch 'n Go Sdn Bhd extended its work to children with autism through a four-year partnership with IDEAS Autism Center. The collaboration developed a pre-vocational training programme for adolescents who struggle with traditional academics. 

On the workplace front, Touch 'n Go Sdn Bhd set a target for 1% of its permanent workforce to comprise differently-abled individuals by 2030. The company introduced inclusive hiring practices supported by job coaches, workplace adjustments, and dedicated check-ins with its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Lead. Current data show progress toward this goal, with differently-abled employees already integrated into teams and two confirmed as full-time staff by mid-2025.

The company collaborates with Enabling Academy by Yayasan Gamuda, Infinite Minds Academy, and other partners to match talent with suitable roles. Managers undergo unconscious bias training and inclusive performance workshops to better support colleagues. Employees also participate in sign language classes, DEI awareness sessions, and film screenings on neurodivergence.

According to the company’s internal surveys, 82% of employees feel comfortable working alongside colleagues with different abilities, highlighting the impact of these measures. Touch 'n Go Sdn Bhd also engages industry peers through the CHRO network to advocate for broader change and inclusive workplace standards in Malaysia.
