THANH THANH CONG - BIEN HOA JSC (TTC AgriS, Stock code: SBT), a leader in Vietnam's agricultural sector, has been awarded the Sustainable Agriculture Award - Vietnam at the ESGBusiness Awards 2024, celebrating its exceptional contributions to sustainable agriculture, innovation, environmental stewardship, and a circular commercial value chain.

TTC AgriS’s sustainability strategy revolves around optimising its processes to minimise waste, reuse raw materials, and reduce carbon emissions.
The company’s ultimate objective is to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions by 2035, aligning itself with Vietnam's national target of reaching Net Zero by 2050.
Circular commercial value chain and innovation
TTC AgriS’s Circular Commercial Value Chain is the backbone of its integrated approach. This model seeks to create an ecosystem of products and services, driven by high-tech agricultural solutions and a commitment to minimising environmental impact. By being an active participant in the global Food & Beverage value chain, TTC AgriS is pioneering efforts to enhance natural nutrition, boost crop value chains, and contribute to global food security.
Key to its strategy is the reuse of waste and the promotion of organic farming. For instance, TTC AgriS has successfully reused 100% sugarcane bagasse to generate electricity for both internal use and sale to the national grid. Additionally, advanced technologies like CO2 carbonation are being used to capture and reuse emissions, ensuring that every stage of production is as eco-friendly as possible.
Further, by leveraging this strong foundation in business model, TTC AgriS has established a shared platform where all stakeholders and organizations can collaborate in one integrated value chain, collectively generating value and driving investment in the development of sustainable agriculture.
Achievements in sustainability
The company's sustainability initiatives have yielded remarkable achievements, reflected in both its environmental and business performance. TTC AgriS is one of the pioneering companies in Vietnam in upgrading and standardizing its corporate governance system with a focus on sustainable development. The company integrates ESG standards across all governance, production, and business activities and is committed to improving its governance framework to meet stringent international standards. This commitment has made TTC AgriS an increasingly attractive choice for foreign investors seeking opportunities in Vietnam.
Demonstrating company’s capability as a positive destination for green capital, TTC AgriS successfully mobilised a total of US$220m from major international financial institutions within less than one year of FY 2023-2024. These institutions include IFC, SMBC, FCB Bank, and a consortium of nine financial institutions from Taiwan (China). This achievement underscores how TTC AgriS, through its "green" business strategy, not only continues to grow robustly but also creates sustainable competitive advantages.
Other key accomplishments include 71,000 hectares of agricultural land across four countries Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Australia, ensuring a stable supply of raw materials.
There has also been a notable focus on transitioning towards organic farming, utilising innovative solutions such as red-eyed bees for natural pest control, reducing the need for chemical pesticides.
Another added accomplishment is the diversification of its agricultural value chain, with a focus on crops like sugarcane, coconut, and bananas. This not only supports food security but also contributes to a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, with TTC AgriS's sugar production emitting just 0.45 kg of CO2 per kg of sugar, far below the Food and Agriculture Organization’s standard of 0.96 kg. Investments in R&D have also been coming in to produce high-value agricultural products, catering to consumer demands for natural, nutrient-rich foods with full traceability and sustainability.
In terms of waste management, the company has achieved impressive milestones, including 95% wastewater reuse, 100% use of biofuel (biomass energy), and 100% zero discharge in its beverage factories.
TTC AgriS's dedication to organic product development, achieving a target of 30% organic products and 20% organic material areas, is a testament to its commitment to sustainable growth. By fostering a knowledge-sharing culture and engaging stakeholders in its sustainability journey, TTC AgriS is contributing to the larger goal of global environmental protection and food security.
