VinUniversity recognised for collaborative leadership in sustainable development at ESGBusiness Awards 2025
The initiative in Nha Trang and Khanh Hoa has united academic, government, and community partners to implement practical solutions for green growth.
VinUniversity has received the Collaborative Partnership Award - Vietnam and Cross-Sector Collaboration - Vietnam at the ESGBusiness Awards 2025 for its role in the Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Green Transformation Initiative. Spearheaded by VinUniversity’s Smart Green Transformation Center, the project was developed to implement Vietnam’s net-zero commitment through province-level action plans.
The initiative involved more than 50 experts from VinUniversity and international institutions, including the University of Oxford, Duke University, and the University of Pennsylvania. They collaborated with provincial authorities, business associations, small and medium enterprises, and community representatives to prepare master plans for Nha Trang City and Khanh Hoa Province. Both plans have been officially approved by the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee.
Stakeholders contributed through forums and workshops, where feedback from government, businesses, and community groups was incorporated into the master plans.
VinUniversity was also recognised for its work in strengthening leadership capacity and implementing practical solutions. More than 100 provincial leaders took part in training sessions introducing ESG frameworks and interdisciplinary tools designed for provincial application.
Three solutions focused on sustainable living, tourism, and transportation have already been adopted. These measures are expected to impact 1.2 million residents and 11,400 businesses in Khanh Hoa.
The initiative has also informed green transformation projects in other localities, including Binh Dinh and Ho Chi Minh City, which have drawn on VinUniversity’s expertise and networks.
